Alba Fedeli awarded CEU Postdoctoral Religious Studies Research Fellowship

The Center for Religious Studies has awarded Dr. Alba Fedeli (University of Birmingham) the CEU Humanities Initiative Religious Studies Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, hosted by the Center for Religious Studies. The two-year position commences this September 2015.

Fedeli will be conducting research on Early Quranic Manuscripts and their Relationship as Studied through Phylogenetic Software.

The Center for Religious Studies has awarded Dr. Alba Fedeli (University of Birmingham) the CEU Humanities Initiative Religious Studies Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, hosted by the Center for Religious Studies. Her recent breakthrough discovery - what may be one of the oldest fragments of the Quran in existence – recently gained wide publicity in the media and Fedeli will continue her research conducting research here on Early Quranic Manuscripts and their Relationship as Studied through Phylogenetic Software.

Postdoctoral Fellowships at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies – Call for Applications 2015

 

 The Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne, Germany, invites suitable candidates to apply for postdoctoral fellowships in economic sociology, political economy, or contemporary history.

 Applicants must hold a PhD degree or be scheduled to receive it by August 2015.

 Fellowships will usually start on October 1, 2015, and will be awarded for one year.

Applications must be submitted by January 31, 2015.

Gábor Betegh to become the next Laurence Professor in Ancient Philosophy at the University of Cambridge

Gábor Betegh is leaving CEU to become the next Laurence Professor in Ancient Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. Gábor will retain an affiliation with CEU and will hopefully come back every year to teach a short course. Gábor has been at CEU since 2001 and has been head of department in the last four years.

The Department of Philosophy is pleased to announce three new appointments: Emma Bullock, Philip Goff and Maria Kronfeldner will become faculty members from August 1, 2014.

CEU Business School and Chongqing Technology and Business University Sign MOU

On July 3 CEU Business School and Chongqing Technology and Business University (CTBU) signed a memorandum of understanding. The MOU offers a framework for further cooperation for undertaking a range of possible collaborative projects, including executive education programs, student and faculty exchanges, executive MBA and full-time MBA programs and generally helping build world-class management education in southwestern China.
