Mundus MAPP: Call for Erasmus Mundus Visiting Scholars in 2014-2015

 
The Mundus MAPP Consortium, consisting of Central European University, the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam, Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals and the University of York, is hosting outstanding third-country scholars who are interested in contributing to the study program and strengthening academic partnerships with the Consortium institutions.

Event Report: "EU Neighborhood and Enlargement Policies Revisited"

The Center for EU Enlargement Studies of the Central European University, in cooperation with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Budapest, the Willy Brandt School of the University of Erfurt, the University of Warsaw and the Metropolitan University of Prague, organized a two-day youth conference entitled “EU Neighborhood and Enlargement Policies Revisited.”

Event Report - “Building Institutional Foundations of Democracy in Georgia”

CEU’s Center for EU Enlargement Studies and the Rector's Office hosted a public lecture by Mr. David Usupashvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, entitled “Building Institutional Foundations of Democracy in Georgia” on February 13, at CEU. The lecture was chaired by Prof. Péter Balázs, Director of CENS and former Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs.  Prior to the public lecture, Mr. Usupashvili met with John Shattuck, Director and Rector of the Central European University and Georgian students studying at CEU.

Event Report - "Democracy Assistance from Central Europe: Goals, Ambitions, Tools"

Democracy assistance in the form of sharing ‘transition experience’ is a rising area of Visegrad countries’ international development cooperation policy. Nevertheless, many aspects of it are still unclear and require thorough debate among policy-makers and practitioners in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. A panel discussion, entitled “Democracy Assistance from Central Europe: Goals, Ambitions, Tools” organized by the CEU Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS) on February 7, 2014, sought to contribute to this discussion.
