CEU Programs Rank Among World’s Best 100 in Latest QS Listing

According to the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rankings, released this month, CEU’s programs in politics and international studies, as well as philosophy, scored among the best in the world again in 2013. CEU is the only university in Hungary with programs among the best 100 in the 2013 subject rankings.

The survey by the UK firm ranks CEU 42nd in the subject of politics and international studies, which at CEU is represented by the Department of Political Science, the Department of International Relations and European Studies, and the Department of Public Policy. CEU moved up in this subject from a ranking in the 51-100 category in 2012 and 2011. QS does not assign specific rankings beyond 50. With a ranking of 42, CEU came in above Universite Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, City University of Hong Kong, and University of Oslo, among others. CEU’s philosophy program also moved forward this year, stepping into the 51-100 ranking category from the 101-150 group in 2012 and 2011. The CEU program now ranks in the same category as the University of Warwick, University of Hamburg, Leiden University, and Pennsylvania State University.
