Biggest alumni reunion CEU has ever had: the 20th Anniversary Alumni Reunion Gala. May 14, 2011.

The 20th Anniversary Alumni Reunion Gala, which took place at Kempinski Hotel, Budapest on Saturday, May 14, became the biggest and grandest alumni reunion that CEU has ever had! The event welcomed over 300 students, faculty, staff, friends and alumni, who had come from all over the world to be with us and represent every single graduating class from more than twenty years ago.

The evening also hosted the "20th Anniversary Alumni Heroes" Awards, a special 20th Anniversary initiative, recognizing a number of distinguished CEU alumni as exemplary leaders and representatives of the University's mission in their own countries and internationally. They were nominated by the global CEU community, including CEU graduates, students, faculty, academic departments and administrative units, and chosen by the 20th Anniversary Committee. The 20th Anniversary Alumni Heroes were recognized and personally presented with their awards by CEU President and Rector John Shattuck and Director of Alumni & Corporate Relations Serge Sych. Among the laughs and cherished memories of CEU shared throughout the evening, guests also had the chance to sing songs shoulder-to-shoulder with the Rector in the live band rockaoke, take some complementary professional pictures at the Reunion Gala photo session, sign CEU's birthday card, watch the unveiling of the Reunion Song Film and enjoy some live music, a luscious dinner and "20 Years of CEU in Photos." A unique installation by the Open Society Archives, outlining the architectural and socio-political history of CEU's founding and growth over the past twenty years, also made an appearance at Kempinski Hotel.
