Martin Kahanec (DPP) organized the 6th IZA/ASE Workshop on EU Enlargement and the Labor Markets in Bucharest, Romania, on November 25-26, 2013. The workshop featured the Romanian launch of the International Handbook on the Economics of Migration co-edited by Amelie F. Constant and Klaus F. Zimmermann, with a contribution by Martin Kahanec on "Labor mobility in an enlarged European Union". Presentations covering several countries in South-Eastern Europe provided deep insights into their labor and migration issues. A high-profile policy panel on the migration and labor challenges in Eastern abd South-Eastern Europe concluded the event.The event was extensively covered by the media.
