Celine Cantat

Celine Cantat is a Visiting Research Fellow at CPS working on a project concerned with migration solidarity movements in Hungary and Central Europe and their relation to the European political project and its border regime. Before starting at CPS, Celine completed her PhD in Refugee Studies at the Centre for Research on Migration, Refugees and Belonging, at the University of East London, and spent a year at Migrinter, Université de Poitiers, as an INTEGRIM Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher. Celine’s PhD research was concerned with pro-migrant organisations and networks in France, Italy and the UK and the way in which they adapted and responded to the construction of the European Union and the Europeanisation of migration and border control.
Celine holds an MSc in Globalisation and Development from SOAS, University of London, and a BA in European Studies from King’s College London. She has also worked and volunteered with migrants’ rights’ organisations in London and Paris, as well as with refugee groups in Syria.
