Open between May 25 & May 26, 2016

Laptop Area, CEU

Museum of Menstruation is an improvised museum that was designed with the purpose of bringing different information about one topic in one place. The museum is small and short in time, but it brings at CEU interesting, reflective and relevant information about menstruation. You could enjoy in the Museum of Menstruation the following items:

  • An exhibition of three selected paintings from the Widening the Cycle Menstrual Art Exhibition
  • The Global Map of Menstrual Taboos, created with the help of the members of the CEU community
  • Photo Corner – Menstruation Matters – You can take pictures or selfies with the sign “#MenstruationMatters because People with Periods Matter”. Also, you can write down “why do you think menstruation matters” and take pictures/selfies with your own sign
  • Hygienic Menstrual Products Exhibition - getting familiar with different hygienic menstrual products: conventional and non-conventional
  • Reflective Corner – you will be able to read a set of questions that you are invited to reflect upon. The questions are designed for people who experience menstruation and for those who do not experience it
  • Informative Table – a table full with informative materials and leaflets about human rights and menstruation, menstrual health and hygienic management, menstruation matters for transgender people etc.  You could take away any of them.

Museum of Menstruation is organized in connection with the Menstrual Hygiene Day celebrated internationally on 28th of May. Also, this activity is the last one as part of our Menstruation Campaign that we started in October, 2015 and implemented it every month throughout this academic year by preparing teaser campaign posters that have been displayed throughout the main campus. The Museum of Menstruation has been included in the list of events organized globally on the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, 2016. You can find out more about different events at:
