The Community Engagement Office at Central European University invites applications for a Community Engagement Assistant position.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Working closely together with Acting Director, Community Engagement Office and Student leadership and engagement officer and coordinator
  • Management of the common email account and office calendar
  • Day-to-day administrative assistance to students during office hours and via email communication
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and web content editing, regular update of unit’s website and Facebook page
  • Assistance in Welcome Events and Orientation Week
  • Assisting with Graduation tasks
  • Assistance with community engagement projects and activities
  • Assisting in organizing and managing large scale, community building events



  • College/university degree
  • Fluency in English and Hungarian. German knowledge is an advantage
  • Full computer literacy, confident use and good working knowledge of MS Office programs required, as well as some experience with databases, knowledge of Prezi
  • Precision, attention to detail, priority-setting, multitasking
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Friendly, attentive and proactive, customer-oriented attitude
  • Experience of working in multicultural environment and/or at a university and customer service experience are an advantage
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a group
