At CEU, EU's development commissioner and Hungary's deputy state secretary talk solutions to poverty

As part of the Kapuscinski lecture series, European Union Commissioner for Development Andris Piebalgs and Hungary's Deputy State Secretary for Global Affairs János Hóvári discussed poverty and the role of European leadership as Hungary prepares to assume the EU presidency in the first half of 2011.

Introduced by Central European University's John Shattuck, the two men discussed key resource and sustainability issues critical to global development and engaged in an open dialogue with CEU students and faculty, as well as distinguished visitors.

The project is funded by the European Commission.
