The UN's special rapporteur on press freedom Frank La Rue comes to CEU

After meeting with Hungarian lawmakers and government ministers, the UN's special rapporteur for the promotion and protection of freedom of opinion and expression shared his thoughts on the state of regulation and censorship at Central European University's Open Society Archive. Touching on events in the Middle East and around the world, Frank La Rue discussed the extent to which governments have in some cases impeded freedom of communication and steps that can be taken to encourage greater openness.
