As Central European University embarks on its third decade, the university's president and rector has an update about all the coming events to honor this landmark occasion. The rector has announced a special 20th anniversary conference to be held on June 15, chaired by our founder George Soros, to be followed that evening by a celebratory concert conducted by CEU board chairman Leon Botstein.

The president has also named Javier Solana, former foreign policy chief of the EU, and the late American diplomat Richard Holbrooke as the recipients of this year's Open Society Prize at our graduation ceremony on June 16. That event will be keynoted by Hungarian-American author and journalist Kati Marton, also the widow of the late Ambassador Holbrooke.
