Central European University was the principal host for this year's 17th annual Hungarian Political Science Association conference in Budapest, Hungary.

As part of the opening program, political scientist Andrew Moravcsik of Princeton University gave the first of two keynote addresses regarding democracy and the so-called "democratic deficit" in the European Union.
