CEU's John Shattuck greets US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton

On an official visit to Budapest for the inauguration of the Tom Lantos Institute, US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton took time out of her schedule to greet Central European University's President and Rector John Shattuck. The two have a history -- Shattuck served under former US President Bill Clinton, as both Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor and as US ambassador to the Czech Republic.

The secretary of state warmly accepted a gift from CEU, the book Masterpieces of History, a collection of documents from the revolutions of 1989 published by the Central European University Press.
