Ten years after 9/11, CEU's John Shattuck reflects on the costs to human life and human rights

As part of a daylong conference marking the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Central European University's John Shattuck explained that the attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center were aimed at the types of open societies CEU aims to promote. He also discussed the human rights consequences on the ensuing war on terror, but also sounded a hopeful note about what we've learned after a decade.
